An Animated Robot Face

I gave some insight on the building of this character – Jane – last year in the 3D Head Modeling post, which also included a link and break down of a very good tutorial. Now she’s finally came to life. See “Jane: Expressions” – a 3D Animation!

Finally Skinned and Animated

I’ve dealt with this character for a long semester in Animation class animating something completely different from this. But believe me you wouldn’t want to see the other animation. It’s lame, boring and makes no sense what so ever. Mostly because our characters had to drive a unicycle. Don’t ask…!

I pretty much like how Jane turned out. Not all of her emotions blend perfectly well into each other and the timing and everything. But I wanted to find out how much variety I could bring into the character by using the controllers I implemented. And I like the result.

So far I think it’s one of my better animations. I might have been able to fumble around with it a bit more, but I don’t know how much of a good it really would have made.
